2. Use cleaner only after suitability gates
Confirm that injection fittings are in good condition before connection. The valve design and process service must suit injection.
OEM guidance applies, and operations must permit the work. Valve cycling also needs separate operating permission.
Check cleaner compatibility with the medium, elastomers, old product and intended follow-on material. Do not assume that a product described as rubber-safe suits every seal.

3. Dwell time depends on the condition
Cleaner needs contact time to act on residue. Industry practice often reports about 30 to 40 minutes before the first review.
Badly neglected valves may be left for up to eight hours in reported practice. These periods are not universal rules.

4. Cycling can help, but it has limits
Permitted movement can distribute cleaner across maintenance passages and contact surfaces. It may also show whether operating force changes.
Do not force a stiff valve. Rising force can indicate fouling, galling, drive trouble, stop error or internal damage.
Movement is screening evidence, not confirmation of clean seats. Easier travel does not prove that the valve holds pressure.

5. Know what cleaner cannot repair
Cleaner cannot replace missing metal, repair cracked parts or restore broken trim. It cannot correct a bent stem or displaced seat.
It may remove residue from a scored surface without closing the resulting leak path. Sealant may support limited damage in a suitable valve, but severe damage needs isolation.
Stop for rapid pressure rise, no uptake, fitting leakage, unstable connection, rising torque or unexpected process movement. Remain within every valve, fitting and equipment rating.

6. Confirm the outcome before choosing sealant
Reduced noise, easier movement or changed pressure response may suggest that cleaner had an effect. None confirms seat integrity.
Use the approved leakage or isolation test under recorded conditions. Compare its result with the pre-treatment baseline.
If fouling improved but leakage remains, assess whether compatible non-hardening sealant suits the valve and fault. If evidence suggests severe damage, plan isolation and inspection.
