Products should enter in controlled amounts while the team watches pressure response. Unexpected pressure rise, connection leakage or no controlled uptake requires reassessment.

4. Understand how temporary sealing affects life
Non-hardening sealant can support damaged sealing surfaces in suitable valves. This may restore required isolation without immediate removal.
The result does not make damaged seats new. Cycling and process flow can move sealant from the sealing area, so monitoring remains necessary.
A temporary seal may support operation until planned repair. It may also reveal that a valve no longer holds after controlled treatment and testing.
Both outcomes improve planning when records stay honest. Neither supports a universal added-life claim or guaranteed maintenance interval.
5. Know where extension ends
Broken stems, cracked balls, badly damaged seats and wrecked trim require isolation and mechanical repair or replacement. Unsuitable fittings or incompatible service can also remove the online route.
Repeated treatment with a shorter stable period may indicate worsening condition. Rising torque, recurring leakage and poor test response strengthen the case for planned replacement.
