A coastal oil terminal structured the engagement as an explicit test: two days of valve servicing first. Our team finished the gate valve servicing online inside the two-day window. Satisfied with the trial, the operator awarded a 30-valve servicing lot.
A two-day trial that won a 30-valve follow-on order
The client set its own test: prove the work in two days first.
The valve and its duty
The valves stood on manifolds at a working coastal oil terminal. Gate valves on terminal manifolds direct product between tanks, pumps and lines.
Terminal manifolds work daily, so valves there rarely get long outage windows. A passing or stiff valve slows product movement and complicates isolation.
The operator structured the engagement as an explicit test of our work. Two days of servicing came first, with a larger lot only if satisfied.
A short structured trial lets an operator judge the work at low commitment. The operator wanted evidence of the method before committing its wider valve fleet.
The intervention
Our team completed the initial gate valve servicing within the two-day window. All work was done online, so the terminal stayed in normal operation.
Online servicing needs no cutting and no valve removal. Each valve went through the same controlled steps.
- Confirm each valve's injection fittings are present and in good condition.
- Service the valve through those fittings in controlled, rated steps.
- Watch the pressure response and record how each valve behaves.
- Hand the operator a record of the work on each valve.
Records from each valve give the operator evidence, not just a claim of success. Our sealant injection visit guide describes what a service day looks like.
The outcome and the record
Satisfied with the trial, the operator awarded a 30-valve servicing lot. The award came in the client's own written words, not through an intermediary.
It instructed us to mobilise materials in advance so no shortfall could stall the campaign. The client confirmed payment for the work during the following year.
A small proven scope reduces the commercial risk in a larger award. Operators often structure new service work in this staged way.
